Poor Unfortunate Souls

the little mermaid was always my favorite fairy tale.
but as children we never hear the real story.
we're all mislead to believe that everyone gets their happy ending.

she gives up her home, her family, her life and her voice.
just for this stupid prince she barely knows.
she's given feet that bleed and ache in exchange for a chance with him.
and do you know what the prince does?
chooses a princess.
another girl.
epic fail, and her final ultimatum is to kill the prince or turn to sea foam.

but of course, stupid mermaid can't do it.
we never can.
so she turns to sea foam.

maybe its not happy, but she got an ending.
im still waiting for mine.
